Rachel & Paul Winn Family
Hands of Charity Foundation began in 2011 when six families traveled to Puerto Penasco, Mexico with a desire to give back. We wanted an opportunity to work together with our families and improve the living conditions of families there. For one week we worked alongside recipient families as we cleared debris, completed a home, painted, repaired roofs, and delivered donations of food, toys & clothing.
Our experience was invaluable. Great satisfaction came from giving, witnessing the joy, and expressing gratitude for things we take for granted and create bonds with those we serve.
Since 2011, we have continued our mission. Through generous donations Hands of Charity Foundation has been able to build & improve more than 15 homes for families and individuals in the Rocky Point area. We have also had the opportunity to work with various organizations in their local community to provide for their needs including building a physical therapy room for a retirement center, planning activities for children in two orphanages and providing needed donations, building a security wall for a local elementary school in addition to planting trees for shade and donating books for their classroom libraries, hosting soccer clinics for local youth and teens, and donating supplies to a local hospital. We have also been able to deliver countless donations of food, toys, clothes, blankets, and shoes. To encourage education & self-reliance we have been able to establish two new programs which allow us to offer scholarships to students who want to continue in school but lack necessary funds and offer grants of money or equipment to recipients wanting to start a business.Hands of Charity Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and has no paid administrators.
